Come and put your hands on it

Beitel is one shed off the R62 in Barrydale, a dust extractor that does not quite keep up, and a yard of blocks waiting their turn. Tendai Marowa has been carving since 1998, first at Guruve and since 2009 here. Everything on this page came off his bench. Nothing is cast, nothing is editioned, and nothing gets made a second time. The gallery is open Thursday to Sunday, nine until four. We shut for three weeks in February, because the shed hits forty degrees and nobody can hold a chisel in that.

The gallery is at 14 Tannery Street, Barrydale. Tell us which piece you want to see and we will have it out of the store room and standing in the light before you get here.
