I buy rough where it comes out of the ground — tiger’s eye off the farms around Prieska, sugilite from the Kalahari manganese field near Hotazel, jasper and agate picked up a lot closer to home. It gets sawn, shaped on the wheels and polished here in the workshop on Voortrekker Street, then set in sterling I raise and solder myself. Nothing is cast in batches and nothing arrives finished in a box. If a stone has a crack in it I will say so before you pay, and I will cut you another one.
Ring sizes, a stone cut to a different shape, or a bigger cab of something you have already seen here — tell me what you are after and I will say what is possible.
