A framing workshop on Albert Road, Woodstock. Everything priced by the centimetre, and quoted before anything is cut.
See the price listTuesday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. Saturday, 09:00 to 13:00. Closed Sunday and Monday, and closed from Christmas Eve until the second week of January. Ten working days from the day we take the measurement, counted from the Tuesday if you come in over a weekend. Some weeks we can turn a job in four days and some weeks we cannot, so ask at the counter before you plan around it. We do not frame anything still wet, anything over 100 x 70 cm, or a canvas already on a stretcher deeper than 45mm. We do not carry plastic moulding either. If the budget is under about three hundred rand, say so early and we will tell you honestly where to go instead.

Marius has been cutting mouldings since 1998, most of that at a shop in Salt River that closed in 2016. Thandi came in 2019 and now does all the mount cutting and most of the glass. Between the two of them the bench runs five and a half days a week, and nothing leaves the shop that neither of them has looked at twice. A first job goes like this. You bring the work in flat. We measure it on the bench, hold it against three or four mouldings, and you pick one — that takes about ten minutes and there is no charge for it. We write the size and the price on a card, you pay half, and we phone you when it is done. Ten working days, balance on collection. Every size and figure is set out in the price list further up this page, so you can work out roughly what a job costs before you walk in.
Two measurements in centimetres and one line about the work is enough for a price. Unit 6, 42 Albert Road, Woodstock, Cape Town. Tuesday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00, Saturday 09:00 to 13:00.
