A small creamery on the Klein Berg, and a milk round that covers Wellington, Hermon and Riebeek-Kasteel.
What's on the round
My oupa ran this round with two cans and a Bedford, and honestly the only thing that has really changed is the bakkie. We milk twice a day at Klipheuwel and buy the rest from the Bothas over the ridge — both herds Jersey, both out on grass for nine months of the year. The parlour is washed down by half past three, bottling starts at four and the crates are loaded by twenty past five. If you are on the Wellington leg the bottles are on your step before six. Leave the empties out and they go back on the truck the same morning. — Marieke Loubser, who drives Tuesdays and Fridays
