Two-way radios, mounts and repeaters for farms, estates and reserves.
See the rangeHandhelds, vehicle sets, antennas, chargers and repeaters, all of it VHF gear running on licensed channels rather than the walkie-talkies sold at the hardware. We fit and programme sets for citrus and macadamia farms around Mbombela, for lodges and reserves along the Kruger boundary, and for estates running a gate and a patrol on the same channel. Everything ships programmed, so a radio comes out the box on your channels and not on ours. If it is on this page it is on the shelf in White River Road.

Line of sight sets the range, not the price on the box. Handheld to handheld you get two to four kilometres across open veld and under one in broken country; a vehicle set with a 1.4 m whip on the roof runs eight to twelve; a repeater on a koppie puts thirty to fifty kilometres of ground onto a single channel. The handsets are 5 W on VHF and rated IP67, which means dust, hard rain and a minute under water, and they hold twelve to fourteen hours on a full battery with normal traffic. Frequencies are licensed through ICASA in your own name, we do the application, and the annual fee for a farm channel runs around R2 100. Nothing here works on the free PMR channels, because on a farm those are already full of everybody else.
