Wesley Titus, one roller door off Main Road

I am Wesley Titus and Stringer is one room with a roller door off Main Road in Muizenberg, about four minutes’ walk from Surfers Corner. I started shaping in my father’s garage in Retreat in 2014 and I have put roughly four hundred boards out of here since then. Everything is glassed in this room as well — I do not send the laminating out to anybody, which is slower and is the only way I can promise you the board weighs what I said it would weigh. If you come in, bring the board you are riding now, because most of what we end up talking about is what is wrong with it. And if what you actually need is a stock board off the rack at a shop up the road, I will say so. A first board does not have to be custom, and there is no sense taking six weeks and seven thousand rand off somebody who would be happier on something they can knock a rail off without minding.

Come and stand next to the blank before I cut it

The bay is open most weekdays and I do not mind being interrupted. Bring the board you ride now, bring a coffee, and we will draw the outline on the foam while you are standing there.

Tell us what you surf

Height, weight, home break, how often you get in, and what the last board did wrong. Custom orders run six weeks in summer, about three in winter, half up front.
