Switchback is one shop on Main Road in Newlands, three minutes on foot from the bottom gate of the forest. We opened in 2016 because the closest place to buy a proper trail shoe was a mall in Claremont, and nobody behind that counter had run in one. We run in everything we sell, on the contour path and up Nursery Ravine and out to Rhodes on the road, and we will tell you when the cheaper shoe is the better shoe. The Tuesday group run leaves from the door at half past five, all paces, no charge, and we lock up after.
