The kit on the wall
Nearly everything you pay for ends up on one board, usually in the garage or the scullery: an inverter, a battery, a small distribution board and a shunt counting every amp in and out of the house. We fit Sunsynk and Deye inverters with Hubble or Freedom Won batteries. All four have people in South Africa who answer a phone when a unit fails, which matters more in year six than a spec sheet does in year one. Panels go on aluminium rail bolted through to the purlins, never on wooden battens and never on a bracket someone bent on site. The board is labelled. Every breaker says what it feeds, in plain words, in permanent ink. When the next electrician opens it in 2036 he should not have to guess, and neither should you.
