What it actually is

Nagvuur is three nights of live music on a wheat farm eleven kilometres outside Koringberg. It started in 2019 as a birthday braai with a borrowed PA and about forty people in the yard. We cap it at nine hundred now, because that is what one borehole and one werf can carry, and we have never advertised it anywhere except here and on Radio Swartland. Nothing happens in daylight. Gates open in the afternoon so you can get a tent up while you can still see, the first set starts when the sun comes off the stubble, and the last one finishes when the fires do. One stage, one bar, one fire, no VIP anything. The Swartland gets properly cold at three in the morning no matter what the day did, so bring a jacket. Gates · Friday 13 March from 14:00. No arrivals after 23:00 on any night. Camping · Included, on the stubble behind the shed. No shade up there, bring your own. The road in · Off the N7 at the Koringberg turn, then four kilometres of gravel. A normal car is fine if you take it slowly. Bring · A jacket, a torch, a chair, and cash for firewood. The bar takes cards.
